Kadaj was trying not to let himself get wound up by listening to Hojo go on with himself. The Arrancar were Kadaj's friends, most of them. He no more wanted Hojo to get his hands on them than he wanted Hojo to get his hands on him.

Which served as a warning, too, because if Hojo kept going they were about to witness episode three of Khamja's family feuds.
