Perhaps not as famed on the lower continent, Ignis reconsidered, but then, Lumi had implied he wasn't native to Ivalice either. Perhaps Ignis had misinterpreted his wording, but something seemed off about a Selkie that spoke about half his heritage's food with the same distance he spoke of the rest of the continent that also hadn't at least heard of Altissia, if only in passing.
Or perhaps he was from elsewhere on Ivalice, and wasn't close to his roots. Neliel was Archadian, but Lumi lacked the accent to identify his origins as there. Ignis decided he'd have to ask, instead of trying to work it out for himself.
"It's a city state of the Union," he explained of Altissia, "across the water from Lucis. It's a popular destination for couples and gastronomes alike. It's reportedly quite beautiful, though I've sadly never been myself."
