Gin was privy to all sorts of information, whether he was supposed to be or not. As such, he knew that L had been employed to not only erase any and all evidence of Aizen's involvement in Midgar's collapse, but also appropriate all of Shinra's records and data before it could be saved by them.
"I bet you've been wantin' to get your hands on that information for a long time..." he said, letting a small laugh weave through his words. He inclined his head slightly, expression remaining the same, but when he continued it was with a slightly different tone, that of shrewd amusement. "Was it worth it?"
Though his manner did nothing to betray him -- it was, after all, deliberately tailored to disconcert with its incongruous mixture of affable lightheartedness and sinister undertones -- there was something casually pointed about the question.
