Aerith cringed at the pained noises from the creature. It was, horribly, almost a relief when Szayel finally finished it. She felt the moment it passed, life fleeing from the body.
Then Szayel ripped its belly open and she hid behind Even from the sight. Her hand landed against the back of his shoulder, fingers curling into the material as she squeezed her eyes shut.
Not seeing it didn't stop her from hearing it though. The soft squelching and slither of the animals insides spilling out rang in her ears.
"A little warning next time," she complained, still with her eyes tightly closed.
