Szayel pursed his lips and clenched his jaw in a swift, angered grimace. He was being singled out, as if he'd run headlong into a fight he couldn't win. With his release abilities, there was no way he could lose, short of someone who was familiar with his techniques enough to be prepared for them which absolutely none of the Ryoka were.
It would be so easy, take the girl, and the Ryoka, and destroy every important tendon, leave them unable to move, and then Szayel could deal with them at leisure.
He did so want samples from them all. A whole sample, still living, would be delightful. He could find out how they worked, better than he could from a simple tissue sample from either Zexion or Marluxia, after all. They were possibilities, but there was no way either of them would consent to being properly studied, and unfortunately, Szayel would require their consent in this situation. But a captured Ryoka....
Being put in the same category as Grimmjow and Nnoitra, however, rankled.
