He managed to sound both peeved, and unsympathetic at the same time.
The 'other matters' that required his 'ongoing attention' were, frankly, nowhere near as interesting as the prospect of Professor Hojo's body of work.
Being told he may be asked to assist didn't do anything to mollify him, either, because that was only a maybe, and would only involve part of the whole thing, which was not as much fun. Though the fact that Professor Hojo had, potentially, studied the Cetra, was intriguing.
