His frown deepened as he glanced away, admitting, "Or they may also move away and leave us be." Right now, it seemed, the others were waiting to see what they were going to do.
He looked Axel directly in the eye before he asked, his voice low, "If you were in their position, which course would you take?" Axel, of the two of them, had always been the better judge of other people, and he'd always been the wilier one when it came to planning.
