Grimmjow saw Saix's strike and knew what would happen if that came at him in the middle of a desert. With Yylfordt and Tayuya with him, he couldn't afford to be put at a disadvantage this early in the game, especially if he was to end it quickly. With a low burst of static, he used Sonido to get out of the way of the blast and get behind Saix.

He didn't waste any time in attacking. Taking advantage of Saix's swing leaving him open, if only for a second, he aimed a roundhouse kick to the side of his head.
