Saix barely escaped taking the bala blast full on only because he was already swinging again. The weapon caught some of it, Saix's arm caught some more, and the berserker snarled, staggering with the blow and losing his grip on the claymore.

It was the only acknowledgement Saix gave of any damage, however. He'd suffer for it when he came out of his berserk state, but for now, his only real focus was on hitting Grimjow as much and as hard as he could. To that end, he bellowed, and moved in to attack again, bare-handed for the moment.
