Lumi had no difficulty seeing the dark.

The moonlight was thin and pale, but it was more than enough for him to see by. He could see a gigantic rock up ahead of them. He would have described it as a mountain, but the climb was nowhere near gradual enough for him to use that description. It looked like a vast, mountain-sized boulder, or inland cliff, hard and grey and unforgiving.

The short and mercifully rough-paved walk from the station took them to a long bridge suspended over a large lake, into which a pair of wide-spaced waterfalls drained, one higher than the other. The cave entrance was obvious enough. It was a good few storeys high and sat at the opposite end of the bridge.

He scowled to himself. Who built a library in a cave?
