That sounded gratingly familiar, but it wasn't unexpected of Clan Khamja, not judging by what he'd been told about it by those who had a rough, if biased, idea of what went on.

"Very well," he said, straightening up a bit.

He would undoubtedly learn who could and couldn't be trusted back at Clan Khamja's base,wherever that was, but he didn't expect there to be many in the former category. The prospect of joining a group made up of various mutually opposed groups wasn't an inviting one, but it was better than the immediate alternatives.
