Xigbar watched Saix and Axel exchange quick glances like they thought they were being sneaky. They clearly knew something was up, which was good to spot; at least they weren't losing their respective touches in that department.
He went to take hold of his beer and then gave Saix a lopsided grin. Xigbar kinda liked him being an uptight prick, and he liked him better when he was marginally less of an uptight prick, but trying to pretend he wasn't. "I run this joint," he pointed out, "I don't have a tab."
Still, sometimes it was better to pay for a drink than to argue, and he fished in his shorts pocket for a few screwed up gil notes which he didn't bother to uncurl before he slapped them into Saix's hand. "But that should cover these."
