Orochimaru scowled at Kadaj, already forming the hand signs required to perform one of his trademark techniques. Black ooze crept down his leg, staining his clothes, and it was clear the sapping effect of Kadaj's attack was making him suffer.

All of a sudden, reiatsu like a lead weight hit, eclipsing Kadaj's, and Orochimaru's eyes went wide. He knew that reiatsu well.

With an effort, he sprang out of the way, using his chakra to boost the power of the jump, taking himself to a spot where he could see both of them.
